Gourd Calabash Index Spanish English

The Gourd Calabash is made from a calabash gourd which is dried and the seeds removed. The gourd is then trimmed and the stem and a meerschaum bowl cap are fitted to it. The stem and bowl cap are removable for cleaning. This unique pipe may look huge, being 8 to 10 inches (20 to 25 cm) long, but the bowl is actually smaller than many conventional pipes. The smoking characteristics are amazing: the driest and smoothest of all pipes. For obvious reasons, this is a hand-held pipe. Even non-denture wearers will find gripping this one in their teeth a real challenge.
