Horn

The Horn is a graceful Freehand shape that is produced in many variations among pipemakers. Some Horn pipes are nearly straight tapering tubes, while others are more like bent standard pipes. The primary style feature is a smooth tapering from the bowl to the shank. There are no abrupt transitions in the shape.

The Oliphant is a variation of the Horn made to resemble the tusk of an elephant. The tapering must be even and gradual throughout the length of the pipe. Whereas Horn pipes may have deep curves or saddle stems, an Oliphant cannot.
