| Pear / Acorn / Arrow
| |
The Pear, or Acorn, is sort of like a softened Dublin. It has the Dublin's conical shape and conical tobacco chamber, but all of the sharp edges have been rounded.
More often than not, it's seen as a bent, though straight versions are available, and it is usually made in smaller sizes. One added advantage is that with the rounded edges, it can more easily be carried in a pocket.
A Pear with a tall bowl and a round bent shank is occassionally referred to as an Arrow, especially if the bowl reaches a point at the bottom.
